Patley provided a very positive dining experience, highlighted by consistently friendly and efficient staff who offered a warm welcome. Diners enjoyed the varied dips and generous portions, finding the overall meal to be of great value. The restaurant is highly recommended.
Patley Review - November 2023
Started off at the Coachmakers in Newport Pagnell, a pleasant place for a drink, the patrons and the bar tenders were all very welcoming. The choice of ‘ale’ however, limited.
This month, our last review of 2023, we chose a Thursday to visit Patley. Even so, the restaurant was quite busy, especially when you consider there is plenty of competition in the area.
As we entered there was nice greeting from the staff and they seemed genuinely pleased to see us. The table was ready and they settled us in for our drinks and pops. The pops were good and the dips were varied and plentiful. Worth also saying here that the staff were very good all evening, some of the best we’ve seen, only let down slightly by a little slow with the starters. However, everyone was polite, efficient and generous.
Really difficult to criticise any of the food but you will find a bit more detail in the positive/negative section below.
Very good value, with generous sized portions. We would certainly recommend a visit.
Methi Master
- Nice greeting on entering. Good atmosphere
- Interesting salad with starters, contained gherkins and an olive
- Plenty of prawns in the puree with tasty spice. Chicken Chatt puree also spicey, delicious
- Excellent selection in the special mix starter
- Special mix starter good value for money
- Lamb (Madras) and Chicken Methi excellent
- Butter lamb and Lamb Madras, delicious, good lamb
- Excellent Patley Tawa
- Very good, right heat for the Prawn Jalfrezi
- Good rice portions
- Side veggies were generally good
- A little slow with the starters
- Puree’s were a little on the heavy side
- Prawn in the puree was oily
- Dhall Bhukara, very spicy, different from expected. Seem to contain frozen mixed veg?
- No special fried rice option, on or off the menu
- Average naans, not the best garlic naan
