Himalaya provided a very good dining experience for a large group, with a warm welcome and excellent, plentiful food, including starters, mains, and sides. Despite a long wait for starters due to the restaurant's busyness, the overall service and ambience were highly rated, leading to an enjoyable evening for all.
Himalaya Review – October 2023
A larger group than we’ve had for some time, 6 club members and 3 guests! We started at CaptainRidley’s Shooting Stick in Bletchley which we all know is code breakers jargon for let’s go to Wetherspoons and drink beer, walk on a sticky carpet and go for a curry. We then made the short journey round the corner to the Himalaya restaurant – an old favourite. We were greeted with the warm welcome from the manager and we also noticed the place was very busy which is always great to see. Nothing else had changed with the same décor and the glassed area where you can watch the chefs in action. Unfortunately, the busyness of the restaurant made it a long wait from ordering starters to receiving them (an hour) and even munching on popadums(nice pickle tray selection) didn’t make the wait any quicker! However, the wait was made up for by the plentiful size of starters which all agreed were very good. The mains were also excellent and the rice, breads and veggie sides were of good quality and size. There was cobra on draft and other bottled beers including Gurkha. I always find it interesting that for a largish restaurant there is only one men’s toilet meaning there was queuing on quite a few occasions as the night (and beer) wore on. All in all, everyone agreed that the food, service, ambience were very good and all had an enjoyable evening.

Expensive, largely due to side orders, but very good
